OBOW Light Travel Forum > Rohan Field Jacket for the traveler

A new item from Rohan is their Field Jacket, which I gather has no paucity of pockets:

"A place for everything and everything in its place. Passport, flight tickets, mobile phone, wallet, MP3 player. You name it, this jacket has a pocket for it - keeping your essential travel stuff close, where you need it.

It looks like a traditional heavy travel jacket that you could imagine Hemingway wearing, when it is in fact, incredibly lightweight, soft and comfortable. And because it is Rohan it packs away small and is virtually indestructible.

The new Field Jacket - the ultimate worldproof jacket and personal organiser rolled into one."

I don't think I personally need one, but based on their Hilltop Jacket, this is a top-quality maker, and this product potentially of interest to someone traveling in cooler weather.

Nice tip, Alan. Thanks. Here is a link: http://www.rohanclothing.co.uk/index.php?cat=rohan_mens_travel_jackets_casual_town_jackets

The only thing missing is a stow-away hood in the collar. That and it would be perfect. Well, if it is long enough to cover a sport coat.

I also find that a shoulder/upper arm pocket on the left sleeve is immensely practical. There is a reason military, pilot and biker jackets often have that pocket.

US$251.76 at the current exchange rate.

This is the kind of jacket that one might more likely wear onto a plane, during the cooler months, rather than pack. I don't have any immediate need for one, and my coat/jacket closet is...full. Besides, I'm looking at getting the new Think Tank Photo Speed Freak V2.0 convertible camera bag for my DSLR system, when it becomes avaiable next month, smaller than my Airport Antidote, and unlike it, sized to fit under an airline seat:

But...that's a whole different story!
