Does anyone own one of the above or at least seen one in the flesh? I've been trying to find a sensible review and have so far failed.

The bag seems to tick all the boxes for me but would like a better understanding of its construction. Link to TNF's UK site is below

Doesn't have an over the shoulder strap but with the daisy chains by the side handle it would not take a genius to attach one.

Even fits in Ryanair's cramped carry on gauge

The U'SA North Face website indicates out of stock at all their factory stores, so having someone check one out may not be feasible. Also I do NOT think that REI carries it. The UK cost of (Lb) 80 is much cheaper than the listed US price of $169.00. If the item is typical North Face, then likely this is a higher quality, rugged bag.

WRONG!! I think the bag is a SEASONAL ski-related item, meant to match a wheeled ski bag they sell.

Probably available only mail order, maybe there are some in the larger REI stores. 30% off at the moment, $118, which is a fairer price for it.

It's a toss up between one of these and the classic duffel, was actually intergetting for the duffel when I found this. Was wondering if the back panel is padded or not.

I have one. Purchased from a standalone TNF store. The TNF stores sometimes have hard to get items if you want to buy in the flesh, such as the Router which I also bought.
The Gear Box is a large carry all bag. I like it because I like TNF stuff, but there are better for frequent travel.
