OBOW Light Travel Forum > Canon shrinks the DSLR

For anyone planning to buy a DSLR especially for travel, where weight and size are always an issue, they might want to wait until next month to consider Canon's just-introduced SL-1, by far the smallest APS-C DSLR to be marketed, 4.6 inches long, weight under 22 oz. including an 18-55/3.5-5.6 "kit" zoom lens. By comparison the smallest, lightest Nkon, the D3200 with a similar lens, weighs about 30% more. On the other hand, one can purchase Nikon D3100 "refurbs" including lens for as little as $370.
