How heavy is the material? Is it summer/spring weight or winter weight? Thank you.

Hi Eileen, my black one is what I'd call mid-weight (spring, fall, winter), I could wear it most of the year but not in extreme hot / humid weather. Because it has pockets it is double layered, which of course makes it thicker and heavier than your average style scarf.
It packs in one of the pockets, when packed, it makes for a comfy little pillow for the plane.
I haven't got my bag scale at the moment, otherwise I'd weigh it.

Thank you, glad to be of help. :-)
The scarf weighs between 6 - 7 ounces. (Found my old kitchen scales....which is why the weight isn't exact).

I love scarfs but never know how to wear them LOL Really, though -- I like the idea of it and may try one! My only concern would be that I would take it off while at a restaurant, cafe or bar and forget to put it back on.
Interesting find indeed, Paula! Keep 'em coming :)

>>>>"My only concern would be that I would take it off while at a restaurant, cafe or bar and forget to put it back on."<<<<
You could put it cross body (like a bag) then put it back around your neck when you leave. If you thought of it as a bag, what would you do with a bag in a restaurant? (I wear mine cross body).
I have a few scarves but like you, never really sure how to wear them. I did find a web site that dealt with that http://www.maitaispicturebook.com/
The "How to's Tutorials on how to knot scarves and use scarf rings" is to the right of the photo of the baby peppers.

For more scarf-tying inspiration, here's a link that takes you to the classic Hermes instructions on ways to wear a scarf: http://fashion.wonderhowto.com/how-to/knot-herm-s-scarf-21-different-ways-0129388/
Also, the Liberty tutorials on YouTube are great, see for example: http://youtu.be/z70g4MMcJoQ. There are several in this series.

Aggghhhhhhhh......Liberty scarves, I love them (especially the Tree of Life series),but I don't love their prices.
Just watched this on youtube.....

I can see the headlines now......"woman accidentally strangles herself with scarf!"
(Yep, that'll be me).

I love scarves with pockets. However, my worry for something like this would be that whatever is in the pocket will gradually weigh that one side down and I'll end up strangling myself with the other end as it gets tighter and tighter.... :p I do like the cross body look though :)

I think if I were to put something heavier in my scarf pocket, I wouldn't wear it doubled around my neck but just as a cowl, (that occurred to me as well tcl), or cross body, which would probably be more comfortable.
At most I'd only have a money purse, cell phone, keys and (at the airport), my passport and boarding pass.

Thanks, Paula Bag Lass! I've just been separated from $50... I bought the Earthy (rust/blue/brown patterned). Oh, I dithered between the Eggplant on Magellan's site and the Earthy on Sholdit's site, but free shipping won!
Ah, posts on travel sites are dangerous for my $$$, but it's so worth it. The scarf looks great and works like a charm.

I like that Earthy coloured one and now I've got my beady eyes on the leopard colour as well.

There looks like there are 2 Earthy fabrics. There's the one on the more mature lady in a darker more cobalt blue and a terracotta type brown and then there's the one of the blonde girl that seems to have more taupe in it. I'm looking at this again as I realized that I don't have pockets in a few of my summer outfits and this scarf would be good for that. :)

How strange, I didn't notice that before.
They only give one colour to order, so I'm wondering if it's the lighting the photographer is using that's doing that?
Alana? Does your Earth scarf look dark or light?

You're gonna hate my answer! It's a rich terra-cotta, lined with taupe, and so some of design looks lighter! It's gorgeous. If you're thinking about getting it, I'd pull the trigger NOW, because it's $30 off only until it's gone, gone, gone...
I actually thought the terra cotta would have more orange to it, which is why I took a week to buy it. Orange and I don't mix, but everyone who's seen mine has reached out, fingered it, then asked for the website.

Thanks Alana!
A fair bit of various orange shades in my closet, I even have burnt orange Aerosoles ballet flats........You've sold me on the Earth shade.
I'm wearing my black scarf to a Police awards dinner in eleven days, no need for me to carry a small bag.......heaven! :-)

Holy cow, I am SO totally getting one of those! Much better & more convenient than a money belt, especially in cooler weather.

http://www.magellans.com/sholdit-scarf
I bought this through Magellans, (they love me and emailed a 15% VIP customer discount). They only sell three solid colours, whereas on the actual web site you have more colour choices and some sale prices, I didn't think to google sholdit at the time. Mine is solid black, multi earth will be my next purchase.
It is an infinity scarf, it has two roomy pockets plus a cinch toggle and the sholdit site shows ways of wearing it that would never have occurred to me. It gets my vote for one of the best wearable accessories for carry-on / lightweight travel I've seen yet.
Anyway, I thought the ladies on this forum might like to see it, (if you didn't know about it already) and no, I don't have any attachment to this company.......(I'm just a sucker for Magellans' stuff). :-)
