Portugal and no swimsuit?

Only 3 things I'd add - a sweater/light fleece which you could easily wear over your shirt on the plane, a swimsuit as Paula mentioned and one of those nylon shopping bags that folds into it's own pouch - great for collecting food items for a picnic, carrying souvenirs you may pick up, and for grocery shopping. Other than that, your list looks awesome!

No swimsuit. The forecast for Nazare is 59 degrees and cloudy.
I'm bringing a jacket with a hood. A little sweater/fleece will be great to add as well as the nylon bag.

Thank you, Paula and Nancy.

No electronics? phones? tablets or computers?

Frank,
My laptop is heavy (school issued) and I don't have a tablet. If I get my new phone before I leave, I'll bring it to skype with my son. I'll buy a cell phone and sim in Portugal.

What kind of electronics do you pack?

Thanks for this great site. It has been so helpful. :)

Shouldn't your lip balm, lip gloss, mascara, hand salve and deodorant (assuming not a crystal) plus maybe hair product technically be in your 311 bag too?

Aren't lipsticks and lip balm solids? Both are in stick form. My deodorant is a solid, as welll.

Yes, hair product and mascara will go in the 3-1-1 bag.

All I can say is:

Sniff, Sniff----I'm so proud!!!!!!

However, regarding electronics--well--remember, I work on the road:

Iphone
Google Nexus 7 tablet
Bluetooth keyboard
Kindle
Multi charger & cords
Back up battery power

I would want a extra bra (or two).

Although having asked about a swimsuit, I'm not sure I'd want to take a dip along those beaches, a record-breaking giant wave at 78 feet was at Nazaré a couple of years ago.
An underwater Canyon causes some freak waves along that section of coast, keep an eye seaward if you're strolling along the beach. Lovely place though, I wish I was going with you! :-)

I don't put lip stick / balm in my 3-1-1, they fall in the solid category.

I guess Australia (where I travel from) has a different definition of LAGs. From a government travel site: "Common liquids, aerosols and gels carried by passengers include drinks, creams, perfumes, toothpaste, lipstick, lip balm, deodorants, honey, Vegemite and other similar substances." (can you tell that it has an Australian bent? ;-) )

Have fun in Portugal!

+1 on the nylon shopping bag, fleece, extra bra.

I'd also add a small tube of face-friendly sunscreen that you know you're not allergic to. You can always get it there if you're not the allergic type.

Plus and extra pen and a mini notebook :)

Enjoy your trip!
