OBOW Light Travel Forum > A Better Alternative to the Scottevest Windbreaker?
Here are a couple, though I've not touched either;

I believe that Scottevestis suing Ayegear for patent infringement.
I use my Scottevest Pack Windbreaker frequently, especially this time of year. The build quality is quite good. I've had it for about three years so things may have changed. I have another Scottevest product (I don't remember the name) that has very good construction but I don't wear it because the external zippers make me look even more Nerdish.

I bought the SeV windbreaker first, then the LL Bean Casco Bay. The Casco has large pockets inside and out, also doesn't make me perspire the way the SeV does. (I have the men's version of the Casco, not only is it endowed with more and larger pockets than the womens, but I need the sleeve and body length).
My Casco has suffered much abuse on my travels and it still looks good as new and hasn't needed repairing......unlike my SeV.
The pockets on the SeV annoy me as I lose things easily in them.....there are too many and some are so secret I have trouble remembering where they are AND the items I placed in them! The Casco, in comparison, has straight forward, easy accessible, hand friendly pockets, my Kindle fits in the internal ones.
The bonus is that the jacket is water resistant.

The new version of the Casco is not as good as the older version of just a few years ago. Specifically, it does not have the outer chest level pocket which was great for a Passport, etc. It does not have a zippered inner pocket. The two inner pockets are not as big as the older version either. I do not know why LL Bean changed it. It makes no sense.

Does anyone know of a better quality windbreaker with comparable (or near comparable) pockets?
