OBOW Light Travel Forum > Red Oxx & MEI Return Policy

I am interested in trying out both the Red Oxx Air Boss and the MEI Executive Overniter. Since I can not compare these products at a store, I was going to order both bags, try them out and return one of them.

Will MEI or Red Oxx accept my return if I do this?

Thanks for any feedback.

I know a lot of people take this approach. I've worked in retail so maybe I'm over-sensitive to this. I would suggest you tell the companies what you are doing and that you will evaluate the bag and send it back by a certain date if it doesn't past muster. You should be prepared to pay return shipping.

Thanks for the suggestion. That sounds fair and I will do that, if I can ever find a way to buy an MEI bag.

"if I can ever find a way to buy an MEI bag."

Do let us know how it turns out. The owner of MEI offered to send me a bag or two several months ago but I put him off because I was too busy to deal with them promptly. I'll request some for review if they get cranked up - so let me know.

I just got my MEI Voyageur. When I asked about the return policy I was told the bag was guaranteed for my life and that they didn't have a return policy outside of the US because they'd never had a bag returned.
It's a solid bag but not spectacular and I had to wait over 2 monthes to get it.

I have been in contact with Ahmed and they currently only have 2 in stock (Navy Blue and Coffee). He indicated that their next production run is late April or early May. Since, there is no way I can wait that long I requested the navy blue bag that is in stock. Lets see how long it takes to arrive.

From the review on this site it sounds like the exact bag I am looking for. I decided to go with the MEI and not bother trying out the Red Oxx. The main reason is the conversion to a backpack.

There are several bags that will convert to backpack style (including the Air Boss's "brother", the Sky Train), the Bihn Aeronaut, etc. I happen to have a Voyageur and have used it often. As a backpack it's reasonably comfortable, but there are a few other issues that have led me to look seriously at the Sky Train, which may fit my needs a bit better. But I haven't yet pulled the trigger (among other things, I'm waiting for Brad's review...).

John - I've started on the review and it may go up this weekend. I could say that my tardiness at least proves that I don't just dash these things off with little reflection...;)

I know that Red Oxx would greatly prefer you not use the bag on a trip if you wish to return for a refund. Which means if possible they'd like you to try it out at home as much as possible first.
