OBOW Light Travel Forum > Computer Accessories Carry Case

I have just purchased the MEI Executive Overniter (can't wait to try it out). To complete my conversion to a single carry-on, I am going to purchase a TB Brain Cell to hold my Dell Latitude D620.

The problem I am having is what would be good solution for holding the associated power cords, 25' ethernet cable, USB thumb drives and a wireless mouse. The Brain Cell will fit in the center compartment, so the case for the accessories needs to be able fit there also. Plus, I will visiting customer locations with the Brain Cell and the carrying case so it needs to be easy to take with me and be appropriate for customer meetings.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Since you're ordering from Tom Bihn anyway you should take a look at their Snake Charmer and clear-sided cube. Those might work.

Xodus ~

Here's what I purchased for my biz travel with my Exec O'niter. I have the same Dell D620:

I found my brain cell a bit thicker than I wanted (although they sure do work well...) and this does great, pluse I can use my shoulder strap at my destination on this.

Also, I use a Eagle Creek 'half-tube' cube to pack all the extras that I have to go with the laptop (power supply, wireless mouse, that sort of thing):

Hope this help ~

Paul,

I like the looks of the REI computer wrap, but how hard is it to get the computer out of the wrap when at the airport? The Brain Cell has a velcro opening at the top, whereas the REI computer wrap opens more on the side.

Otherwise, it looks great.

Thanks

The REI computer wrap has velcro on the two sides that open. I use mine whenever I'm doing business travel and it's easier to get the laptop out of the wrap than out of a neoprene sleeve, since the wrap has more structure. The two-sided opening is really nice for both size adjusting and for moving from shoulder bag to a backpack.

What Kit said - Thats one of the reasons that I liked it when I saw it. Likely not as much absolute protection as the brain cell, but still great and works wonderful to get the laptop out and back in at security, and works fine on location.

I like the Red Oxx Lil Roy. I shove all my cords and such into it and then put it in my bag for easy retrieval. Very rugged and very easy zipper to operate. I don't get much use out of the side snaps but they are a neat feature. Only problem is that it can hold a lot more than I should put into it - a few times I've had to adjust my packing because I didn't like the way it fitted in my main bag after I stuff it full. I think I tried to put all my cords and such in there then added a travel alarm too. It all fit but it was too much for what I wanted to do.

I use an Eagle Creek "half cube" as well as some smaller Eagle Creek pouches to hold cords, card readers, and other toys. And I use a simple neoprene sleeve for my Dell D630:
