OBOW Light Travel Forum > Packing for Cannes
I am using the Air Boss for a 14 day trip to the Middle East from tomorrow and it will be fine for that. >100 degrees F!
Using just a few sets of clothes - synthetic materials that hand wash and dry quickly.
I don't know about packing a tuxedo - it will certainly fit in but will need hanging/ironing afterwards.
I travel a lot on international business and use the 'business casual' dress code - ie slacks and polo etc. - The Air Boss is good for that lifestyle, well made and you can easily squash it into overhead lockers, under seats and through airline sizing frames. The consequences are a few creases to your gear.
But you don't loose your luggage!
In Europe they have mixed carry on allowances. Because of terrorism some still have one bag carry on policy. Others allow two - you need to check your airline baggage information details.
My trip allows one carry on bag no heavier than 7kg. Clothing is minimal therefore and I will wash and dry overnight using travel clothes line where necessary. For a couple of dress shirts I will use the hotel express laundry service.
I will take a Nikon SLR and leave a space in the Air Boss central section for it in case at check in they insist on 1 bag only.
Also I wear a packable rain jacket to check in and put a load of stuff in the pockets to keep the bag weight down. But it's very rare that they will weigh a carry on in my exerience. Once you're through you can put it back in the Air Boss.

I will be traveling to the Cannes Film Festival from the US and need advice on what bag to use and a comprehensive packing list. What are your suggestions? I do need to bring a tuxedo, as most of the main events and parties will be black tie. Here is what I came up with so far: I want to get the Red Oxx Air Boss as recommended here, but is it enough to carry what I need for 2 weeks? I am also considering the Red Oxx Gator bag for my camera equipment. (I can take both of these bags as carry ons, right?). Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank-you!
