OBOW Light Travel Forum > Micro Mover Fold Away Luggage Cart In Hand Luggage

Hi,

I want to take only one hand luggage. Do you know if i can take the Micro Mover Fold Away Luggage Cart from Samsonite (Micro Mover Fold Away Luggage Cart).

I take off from London Luton to Paris.

Thank you in advance.

It's probably best to check with your airline. They may allow it if it does not push your luggage over the size limit. Let us know what they say.

Hi,

My airline says that can be view as a weapon. I will ask the security when i take my flight.

Hi- I fly 2-3x domestically per year with a hand cart and I take it onto the plane. It's a Wesco mini mover, http://www.adorama.com/ZZWMN.html which is much bigger than the micro mover you're talking about. I've done this for 2-3 years now on several airlines with no problems. I bring such a heavy duty cart when I'm photographing for a client and have a lot of heavy gear I'll have to haul. I just keep my carry-on and personal item (a camera bag and a hardside lighting kit, both black and the same material) on the cart until I am in the airway and about to board. No one's ever had a problem with it, but I'm pretty sure that some people just think it's an upright or a buisness case on wheels or something and don't realize that the carts separate. I think people are so used to rolling suitcases that no one bats an eye when they see a suitcase on a cart, because they probably assume it's a rolling suitcase.

Having said that, the micro mover does look rather threatening when folded! Could it fit into your carry on just before you board?

I have that Samsonite cart, too. It is the lightest and most compact cart I found. It's easy too unfold but a bit tricky to fold together again after use. I was also wondering whether TSA would object to it. So I scoured their website and didn't see anything that would prohibit it. Two days ago I asked a TSA agent at the gate and he said it would be no problem as long as they can put it through the X-ray.

It fits in an Airboss bag. So that would give you the weight of the Airboss (3.8lbs I believe) plus 2.2lbs for the cart. 6lbs flat. Not bad at all.

It seems that 50% of people love the "Micro Mover Fold Away Luggage Cart" and the other 50% of the people hate the cart

The micro/foldable luggage cart seems like a great idea, but suprisingly there is nothing else similar (in terms of "foldability") to "Micro Mover Fold Away Luggage Cart"

This is the "best" I have come across, what do you guys think? I am not sure I would be able to fold it and place it in my RedOxx AB. It seems like it can however be used to carry both my AB and at least 1 checked luggage bag:

I've flown lots of trip with the Samsonite cart in the US and UK with no problem with security. Fits great in an Air Boss and it will hold the Air Boss and my husband's Flying Boxcar without a problem. You do need to distribute the weight properly or the load can torque around.

I think the people who hate the Samsonite cart are the ones that have problems folding it back up. Till is right in that it is tricky to fold back up. When I bought mine I practiced a bit to see if I would like it. Once I got the hang of it I didn't have a problem. However, when I pull it out to use it after not using it for awhile I have to re-visit how to fold it back up.

I haven't seen the Travelite-Travel-Folding-Luggage-Cart in person so don't know if it will fit. I found that dimensions sometimes are misleading. Brookstone has a mini-luggage cart:

http://www.brookstone.com/compact-luggage-cart-folding.html?bkeid=compare%7Cmercent%7Cgooglebase%7Csearch&mr:trackingCode=E2BA95C7-FBDD-DE11-A84F-0019B9C2BEFD&mr:referralID=NA

But I haven't seen that one either and is bigger than the Samsonite but probably better for people who don't want to fuss in folding it back up and that handle design usually is a bit more stable.

Hello Tilley and Maggie, thanks for your responses.

I have also come across the ETA Stow n' Go Luggage Cart on eBags.com and Amazon.com. ebags.com also has a video of the cart (see the link below)

http://www.ebags.com/product/eta/stow-n-go-luggage-cart/120609?productid=1312113

Similarly, I cam across the Design Go Luggage Travel Trolley, it seems to be EXACTLY the same as the ETA-Stow-Go-Luggage-Cart (even the price is the same):

http://www.amazon.com/Design-Go-Luggage-Travel-Trolley/dp/B000O0YHWI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1301938060&sr=8-1-spell

Accoriding to Amazon.com:
Design Go Luggage Travel Trolley --> Product Dimensions: 11 x 7 x 3 inches ; 2 pounds
ETA Stow n' Go Luggage Cart --> Product Dimensions: 3.1 x 18 x 9 inches ; 4 pounds

According to eBags.com:
ETA Stow n' Go Luggage Cart --> Product Dimensions: 3.1 x 18 x 9 inches ; 3 pounds

Admittedly, I am leaning towards the Travelite-Travel-Folding-Luggage-Cart because along with my AB I (possibly) will also be carrying a one 50lbs checked bag. The Travelite-Travel-Folding-Luggage-Cart is rated to carry up to 80lbs and it only weighs 2.5 lbs

( also, the Travelite-Travel-Folding-Luggage-Cart is "recommended" by OneBag.com http://www.onebag.com/business-bags.html )
