Just enforcing the carry-on regs would help those of us who know how to do it. And then the ones with the bulging 40-pound suitcases would have to check them - and pay extra. That would leave room for the rest of us.
If there is no room left in the bins for a carry-on (within the limits, of course), will the passenger be exempted from the $15 fee for being FORCED to check their bag, I wonder?

I think this blog post pretty much covers it. People are now going to be hauling their WAY oversized bags onto the plane and taking up space. You know this is going to migrate to all airlines too.
I sure do wish that airlines would just raise prices instead of striping services. Sure wouldn't hurt my feelings to pay more up front, have less crowded planes... errr, I guess what I want went away with the deregulation actually.
Dang do I hate traveling by plane anymore.
