OBOW Light Travel Forum > Brad...packing list questions?

I wanted to ask a question about the OBOW suggested packing list, and figured instead of just writing to Brad I'd post a generic question.

Brad, your notes on the sample packing list says that it weighs 12 pounds, without options. Does that include the bag you pack it in?

To everyone else, what does your finished bag weigh? I can travel a very long time at 18 to 20 pounds. 20 pounds is my "watermark", I never let myself go heavier. But even that can get a bit heavy, and I watned to ask what the rest of my fellow "light travelers" are able to do.

Bottom line, I guess, is that I am considering selling my EO bag in favor of the much vaunted Air Boss. But I am very much aware that I can't do 20 pounds on one shoulder for very long. So I need to figure out if I can go lighter....

Thanks, I really appreciate your time...and this website!!!!

I have been traveling with about 13 pounds in a carry on bag that was in a set . It measures 9" X12"X7 and comes in at about 1500 ci. It cost $23 on sale. So far it's great but I 'm getting ready for a cold weather trip and I'll see how it does.

Skip,

the Air Boss weighed about three pounds so my on-the shoulder weight was about 15 pounds. I've since done similar trips with the Western Flyer with a total weight of 10 or 12 pounds. I can't take anything much over 15; 22 pounds is brutal for my frame. A recent trip with a heavy laptop pushed my Skytrain weight up to about 20 pounds and it was not pleasant. There's no real alternative to just leaving things at home. I thought I'd own a netbook by now...

I assume you've checked out the carry-on weight poll in the right column ->
