OBOW Light Travel Forum > Maxpedition Fliegerduffel

Has anyone purchased or handled Maxpedition's Fliegerduffel? Here's a link, http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=13&idproduct=920. I'm hoping to travel in the not too distant future and wonder if this would be a good alternative to Red Oxx, Tom Bihn or MEI bags. The choice of colors is limited but it looks like it should hold up well. Don't know that I like the location of the handle. I've enjoyed the website and getting tips. Thanks.

Looks heavy - and like it could bulge to over-size.

Just an opinion here but . . . I tend to recoil from anything covered in M.O.L.L.E. webbing as it reeks of “military contractor”. That might not be an issue for the sort of travel you’re planning but . . .

If you’re willing to consider product from the “tactical” guys, I’ve found Tactical Tailor’s stuff to be a bit better constructed than the Maxpedition stuff I’ve tried. Their small sized soft suitcase might be a comparable option (http://www.tacticaltailor.com/softsuitcase.aspx). It’s certainly cheaper and would be less likely to stand out in an airport.

Just my $0.02. Feel free to ignore.
