OBOW Light Travel Forum > advice on red-oxx-like bag for my wife

hi All, I have two Red Oxx bags: my AirBoss is for work and my C-Ruck is for vacation. I LOVE them. My wife's hand-me-down backpack is finally trashed, so we need to get a replacement. She doesn't want a Red Oxx (feels it would be too cute if we both were trekking around with matching bags. I can't blame her). Can you recommend a comparable bag to the C-Ruck (roughly 2200 cubic inches of storage)? She's not crazy about convertible bags like the Tom Bihn's Western Flyer and the Brain Bag is for laptops, so I'm looking for a backpack. Thanks for your help!

Look into Osprey. The Porter model is popular. Also check out ultralight backpacking sites.

I'm not a big fan of the Tough Traveler bags but I like their packs:

Look at the Super Cay and Super Padre (exactly 2200 cu. in. - very comfortable on the back).

Have you looked at Tom Bihn's Brain Bag? It's 2200 cubic inches.

I really like the Smart Alec, which is well-designed, but only holds 1600 cubic inches.

Sorry, I missed that sentence about the Brain Bag.

Thank you everyone. We ended up getting a Smart Alec for her, and she loves it. Already taken it on one trip to the Midwest, and she just finished packing it for our two week trip to Australia. Great suggestions!
