OBOW Light Travel Forum > What Info do the New Passports Reveal?
That info is listed on the US State Dept's website. They say there is no personal information stored there that can be retrieved by others. Therefore, it should not be a problem

The State Dept. and the US government (just about any government) can hardly be trusted on those issues. I strictly oppose the capturing and electronic storage and access of biometric and other passenger date. We are approaching the Big Brother at a dangerous speed.
Even if they do not embed the data in the chip itself they can build in a link to a data base. I am not only worried what criminals will do with it but also what elected officials will do with it in a criminal way, just because they can.

Good point Till. I saw a bumper sticker today that read, "Think you can trust the Government? Ask the American Indians!!"

I like that bumper sticker!

I know that the new Passports have imbedded personal information (RFID) and that people should be careful over being scanned by criminals. But, what exact information is imbedded in the new Passports? And how can that information be used against someone??
Thank you,
