Patagonia changes, stays legal
It looks like Patagonia has discontinued the One Bag undersized overnighter/laptop bag. Not to worry, the Tom Bihn Western Flyer is a very similar product and is probably even more versatile. Patagonia has updated their larger MLC® (Maxiumum Legal Carryon). It’s worth a look.
Someone has rightly pointed out that the Patagonia One Bag has been replaced by the Lightwire Brief, a very similar concept to the Tom Bihn Western Flyer - though more briefcase than suitcase.

I'm curious about your thoughts on Patagonia MLC vs MEI Voyageur Travelpack?
The Voyageur is incredibly comfortable to carry as a backpack (see the OBOW review) but is a poor piece of luggage from a features, packing, and shoulder carry standpoint. The MLC (I've only seen the old one) is a nicer piece of luggage but will probably be about as uncomfortable on the back as most convertibles. It's a little bulgy too, as I recall. Doug Dyment used to complain about the MLC being almost too big. This has likely been corrected. The nice-looking, highly functional, super comfortable backpack/suitcase has yet to be produced - as far as I know. I probably prefer the Tom Bihn Aeronaut to any other convertible so far.
Patagonia has introduced the Lightwire Brief that looks like the replacement for the One Bag
You're right about the Lightwire but Patagonia doesn't categorize it with their luggage. I'm thinking it's a little less overnighter and more briefcase than the One Bag was. The pictures and info on the Patagonia site aren't very helpful. Ebags usually has better pix and info than the corporate luggage sites. I'll check there. Thanks for the tip.
Brad-- thank you for the compare to the MEI Voyageur.
