Radical rolling

zucapro.jpgThere is something new under the sun: the Zuca Pro roller is a radical bag that offers some unusual features and an eye-popping design. I can’t tell from the website info whether it may be a good one-bag solution or not. The interior room is somewhat under-sized and there are no dimensions given for the packing cubes. Still, it is intriguing. It offers a cabinet-like modular interior and is rigid enough to serve as a seat - try that with your backpack. Pricing ranges from $235-$285. I’ll be on the hunt for more info on the Zuca Pro…

Looks rather heavy...

I fly to Boston about once a month and wear out carry on bags about once a year. I bought the Zuca Pro in February and love it. I put all my clothes in the pouches following the packing tips included, and at my hotel I line the pouches up across the dresser. I know where everything is and don't have to go digging through my suitcase to find clean underwear. Unloaded the Zuca is super light, lighter than it looks, and much lighter than my last bag now relegated to housing my daughters wedding dress in the basement. I guess airplanes have to be light, and it is made like one. Also, I have never had a bag that rolls so easy, no more rrrrzrrrrzrrrr over the moving walkway at the airport. I didn't think I would use the seat much when I bought it, but... I do use it all the time especially waiting for cabs.

John - weight = 8.75 pounds. Tommy - thanks for the info. The website just doesn't give dimensions for the cubes. I hope to get one for evaluation.

8.75 lbs...so that's lighter than most rollaboards, but a bit heavier than some Eagle Creeks and others. So dimensions/weight OK for domestic flights, but flying from Europe you may need to check it if you're carrying an average amount of clothing, accessories, etc., and for some airlines (e.g., Lufthansa) it's a bit too big for carryon. Still, an interesting design on paper...looking forward to Brad's review (if he can get one)...oh, and still waiting for that Sky Train review, too ;).

Johh - certainly possible that you might occasionally have to check this bag and I'm guessing you'd have to gate check it on the little Embraer regional jets.

Any info on whether it would accomodate a sport coat or a suit? I'm guessing no.

I'm quite sure it wouldn't be good for a properly folded suit - based on its apparent interior dimensions.

i was wondering if zuca roller bags would be good for school use?
