Fodor's carry-on guide

Everyone’s talking carry-on bagsthis summer, even though they may be an endangered species. Travel super site Fodors.com has a carry-on buyer’s guide - wheeled and convertibles.

Interesting but I've never understood having a carry-on (or luggage for that matter) that weighs over 4 lbs empty.
I was in a luggage store once, just having a look around trying different bags for weight and comfort. Picked out a roller case and tried to pull it along the floor....man it was HEAVY!! I asked the shop assistant if it was packed with anything, like bricks for example? It was empty and weighed a ton. I not only thought of the person who would buy a case like that, trying to pull it along but the baggage handler who was about to break his back lifting it.
My carry-ons weigh a maximum of 3.5 lbs, the lightest one is 2.5 lbs. My back and arms thank me for it.
