Paris Hilton - the anti-OBOWer
Last week I found myself at the Virgin Atlantic check-in desk next to Paris Hilton.
What was striking about her was not the fact that she was attempting to travel incognito on a winter Saturday morning wearing big sunglasses and her head buried inside a hoody top (though she was sporting a Paris Hilton t-shirt!) No, the bizarre thing was that she had 16 separate pieces of luggage. Like, er, 16 - as she might say: Hello?
What in god’s name could you have that would need 16 bags? (Mostly rubbish bags too - not a Louis Vuitton to be seen.) - from TravelMail - the Daily Mail of London’s travel section

Oh lord. That's fairly horrifying.
I take the train to work and sometimes end up on the airport train (which, on the other end, goes to my stop). I always see people struggling with huge rolling bags, sometimes more than one. I guess they figure, if it rolls, it's easy, but I feel sorry for them.
Trains, stairs, escalators, curbs, and cobblestones - the best reasons not to roll.
I have, on various travel sites, exchanged views with ladies who refer to themselves as 'fashionistas'.......aka the proverbial chronic overpacker. Some even confessed to needing a change of clothes for each day of the trip and sometimes more than one change per day. When I listed my lightweight carry-on clothing items I could almost hear them shuddering in horror.
Ms Hilton being the ultimate fashionista, I'm not surprised she is travelling with a large amount of luggage.......you'd think she could afford some nice, neat matching cases though!
It is that sight at airports that make me chuckle evilly as I sail past with my little bag. ;-)
