Gadling's 5 days/5 bags
Gadling’s Scott Carmichael runs down five:
- Timbuk2 Patrol convertible
- Skookba Checkthrough brief
- Arc’teryx Blade 30 pack
- Zuca business backpack
- Tom Bihn Aeronaut
Also from Gadling, the industrial-cool-but-rigid Zuca Pro roller - definitely not one you want falling out of the bin, helmet recommended.

I read this with interest. Scott raves about the Zuca. I must say I'm not tempted by it. I think it looks weird.
I would feel like a roadie hauling this around.
It looks interesting, but I am not sure the whole thing is a little gimmicky. Maybe it would be good for a road trip, if you toss it in the back of your car for several weeks' wandering.
I can see the benefit of be able to sit on it, but it looks like a PC carry case. Still too heavy (empty) for my style of packing.
Magellans sell 'The Walkin bag' made for sitting on, it's creator, Etsuo Miyoshi, survived polio and required luggage he could sit or lean on and wheel easily. Still too heavy though but if I was disabled and had to travel, I'd seriously consider a bag I can sit on.
