Travel laundry killer app

WRINKLE KILLER…wrinkle killer that is. Downy Wrinkle Releaser is for real. It is the new must have for travelers - whether you do sink laundry or not. My left-in-the-dryer 60/40 dress shirt was a mess and a fine test case. A couple of blasts of the Downy product, a couple of tugs and some smoothing and, voila!, no wrinkles. I’m a poor folder so I expect the the Wrinkle Releaser will bail me out often. Get it in the travel size or re-package (from the widely-available big bottle) to a small spray bottle. You’ll never leave home without it.

Tip for use are found here; a forum for users here.

It would be really interesting to see a before and after photo of a cotton dress shirt. Can you do that? Also, how does it smell and does the smell stay in the material/cloth a long time?

I may be able to post some pics. The smell is not strong and it seems to away. It works well enough that my wife said it will cause her to change her packing list for our next big trip.

Read up on it a little bit. Looks like the main ingredients are fabric softener, alcohol and water. In other words, if you just put some fabric softener and some distilled water in a spray bottle, it should work about as well. Here is a link:

The main idea seems to be that the evaporation process quells the fibers and smoothes the wrinkles. Same idea as in steaming clothes just not quite as effective.

It's most effective with part poly fabrics. It won't touch my treated cotton Orvis coat but does wonders with a moderately wrinkled 60/40 dress shirt.
