An even better belt?

An OBOW post earlier this week discussed metal-free belts for wearing through the metal detector. I may have discovered a better version from ExOfficio. This one is metal-free, steplessly adjustable, and has a hidden money compartment. It come in a couple of patterns that would probably match most clothes, and it’s cheaper than anything previous mentioned.

Eagle Creek
makes one too, though perhaps more plain. You need to fold your bills quite a few times to fit them in.

I looked at the Eagle Creek money belt, and it seemed pretty cheap and the buckle prone to breakage. (The online reviews are consistent with this concern.) I ordered a plain black money belt from PacSafe for $13 including shipping, and so far I've been satisfied with it. The buckle has a slightly better design than the Eagle Creek, although it is made of the same cheap high-impact plastic.

Patagonia has a number of nylon belts with aluminum buckles. I think these aluminum buckles don't trigger the sensitivity of current metal detectors. That's been my experience so far.

Bison Designs makes a webbing belt with a carbon fiber buckle, that shouldn't trigger the metal detector.

Thanks, SH. That is stylish! Could imagine substituting the webbing for leather but the buckle probably is not large enough for that. Still a nice belt.
