Oh, my!

Leather is never light, but it is almost always beautiful - especially if formed in Firenze:

The Pratesi COSTANTINOPOLI costs a little over 100 euros per pound. The price is hefty but, for a leather bag, the weight is not, at about 5 1/4 pounds. I believe I poked my head in this shop in Florence last year. The prices, I’m sure, left me light headed. Suffice it to say there’s a lot to tempt anyone at Pratesi.

Thatsa nice bag. With some leather scraps, rivets, and metal d-rings a person could rig it up for shoulder straps.

Oh just the fact that it is leather makes it beautiful. As much as I prefer my lightweight carry on bags, there's something so elegant about a leather bag. Sigh!

Very cool. European MLC size. Vegetal tanned leather. Pre-aged with waxes and other secret products. Basically it has a so-called antique finish. Interior compression straps. One interior small pocket within the big compartment. Weight is very low for leather. That's about what a BR235x weighs. Price is also justifiable. In line with the Longhorn from Mulholland.

I love the well worn, old world style of this luggage; can certainly envision using luggage like this on a refined weekend getaway. Yet, I can't help but conjure up the image of this being Harry Potter's "go bag" for life after Hogwarts.

This is a beautiful bag but I really LOVE my Rustic Leather XL Briefcase. It has old world craftsmanship and looks magnificent... the more I use it the better it looks! It is large enough for my carry on items and laptop. I get compliments on it all the time.
