I just took a look at this item, I understand the rationale, but my wife saw it, and advised, "Honey, you don't get to have one...unless you want to be walking through the airport with somebody else!"

Alan, you have a wise wife. How can there be testimonials for this garment if it hasn't been manufactured yet? Is this a case of "There's one born every minute"?

Monte, that's exactly what I thought before I read your comment. It can't be ordered, there's no price...yet there are testimonials? Okay, so even if there were a few made and given to friends, how believable would they be?

So, the journalist in me did a little diffing. It seems as article about this was written by USA Today over five years ago. And he still doesn't have a product? He also seems to be involved with a lot of ventures.

I wouldn't hold my breath for this one. Although, it might give Scottevest an idea to give us a good, lightweight, trench coat.. .

At the bottom of the web site it says --- 2010 suitcase coat
patent pending. Maybe this person is trying to revive the business
since it may not have taken off in 2005.I am only guessing here.
Time will tell.

Mountain climbers on expeditions to the Himalaya or Karakoram always tried to save a few dollars on excess baggage charges by wearing their parkas onto the plane, their pockets laden with as many of the heavy carabiners, pitons and chocks as possible, though I think even then and certainly now, trying to also board with one's ice axe, claiming it's a cane, didn't work!

Today there may be photographers facing weight limits who utilize photo vests to carry up to two bodies and four lenses or so. They really can't chance having an airline lose or damage a bag of equipment. But....simply packing clothes into a worn garment is a bit different.
