Daily Roundup--October 19, 2011

The Ritz Hotel in Paris will close next summer for two years. It’s going through  a complete renovation.. If it closes,  where am I supposed to stay?

My wife and I walked through its lobby and past some of its bars about a month ago one evening, with a thought we might have a drink...but we decided that THIRTY-TWO EUROS for a Martini was a bit much, regardless of how nice the glass might be.
