Are Travel Fees Getting Ridiculous?

Everyone is familiar with airlines now trying to  charge for everything except a seat—and even that is some cases. But now hotels and rental car companies are getting into the act.

Are there any fees you’ve encountered that were not mentioned in the article?

Although they did mention it, the worst for me was when I was charged for bottled water in a hotel. The trick? I didn't have it from the room, but the conference downstairs that I was attending! The hotel just used the same vendor for both and by throwing away the bottle in my room, they thought I'd partaken in the room water and charged me.

I did call and explain and they reversed the charges, but that was irritating for sure.

It can be incredibly difficult to find out hotel parking fees on hotel websites. But those fees show up prominently on Yelp and Tripadvisor reviews.

The most annoying fee from hotels is the in-room safe. I don't use the thing, yet I'm being charged for it? Thankfully, if you don't use it, you can refuse to pay the fee. The problem is, you have to get it taken off when you check out.
