For the traveler who has everything...
I’m not making this up. You can buy zipper lubricant in a can. And it’s called Jig-A-Loo:
The manufacturer calls it a “lubri-pellant” and recommends it for zippers and practically everything else you can think of. They claim it’s non-staining. This would make it appropriate for luggage…or trousers. And, hey, it’s from Canada, eh?
From the website FAQ:

Yes, Jig-A-Loo does not stain. Have a stuck zipper on your white jeans, your wife’s dress? Your kid’s jacket? Or another piece of clothing? Just spray it with Jig-A-Loo for quick and clean results.

Zipper lubrication is an excellent idea -- not only do zippers become a pleasure to open but it prevents over-stressing the zipper and therefore probably prolongs its life. But you don't need to buy anything special to do it. Just rub a chapstick on the zipper, or a paraffin candle, or a pencil point (it's the graphite), or spray some WD-40 on it, one of which people already have around the house. Any of them will do the job.
Good alternatives. I don't think Chap-Stick, WD-40, or graphite are non-staining though. :-)
One question I have: if Jig-A-Loo contains no oil, wax, grease, or detergent.... then what *does* it contain?
Actually, WD-40, according to Wikipedia, is mostly solvent and is itself used as a cleaner. It does not stain. As far as chapstick, it depends on the brand and whether colors/flavors are added. I always get the plain stuff and that does not stain. Graphite, of course, can leave a residue (if you're not careful to coat only the zipper) but can be cleaned up quickly with, among other things,WD-40.
