Dry and not so dry

The weather is lovely in Switzerland, but a late night and a very early morning made for not so dry sink-laundered closthes. No worries, we’re at this hotel for another night. I’ll remember to leave the bathroom window open next time. I should have packed at least one more casual shirt for wearing around the hotels and streets at night - that would be worth a pound. The REI Adventures pants are much better than expected. The extra pockets are low-profile, incorporated in the side seam. One will hold the passport nicely and neither you or anyone else know it’s there.  Here’s a wonder - I wore the antii-microbial ExOfficio underwear fabric was free of odor after 36 sweaty hours - hard to beat.

Here’s the view from my hotel balcony:

Damp laundry is the one thing that drives me nuts about sink washing. If you weren't staying another night, what would you have done with the damp clothing?
Just out of curiosity, how many hours did your clothes get for drying? Did you dry your clothes in the room or the bathroom? It sounds like you dried them in the bathroom.
I'm going to Europe in late June and would like to refine my drying techniques.
Hope you're enjoying your trip otherwise.

I have cheated in the past and used the room hair dryer to evaporate the dampness.
At one place I hung my damp tees in the window where the sun was shining through but I was very aware that it wouldn't look great from the outside.

Is that a gorgeous view, or what? Wow!

I bet the hotel people wouldn't mind giving your stuff a quick swirl in their industrial dryer if you asked.

I usually bring a travel/swim towel, so my synthetic clothes are only mildly wet when I am finished washing and wringing. Having gotten them that dry I have worn them dry in the evening before and the next morning. You have gotta to love that 98.6 degree heater called the human body. Of course this work best in moderate humidity, but I have done in near jungle like areas of Costa Rica.

Actually, since I knew we were there two nights I didn't bother rolling anything in a towel and I hung in partially enclosed shower - so it was no surprise. Worse case I would broken out he hair dryer. You should really always ask for extra towels on arrival for just this purpose - I just didn't. Come to think of it I did use the hair dryer on some of my wife undies (since her checked luggage was lost for a day).
