Still going
We woke up this morning hearing sheep bells in a Swiss mountain village and by sunset we were at Lido di Jesolo on the Adriatic near Venice, so we covered some ground. Along the way Verona was delightful and not too warm. The REI pants continue to impress. I’ll definitely pick up some more. I’m just washing a couple a shirt and undies tonight. Tomorrow will be 9 hours in Venice. Don’t think this one-bag thing is saving my back: tonight I lugged a bunch of 40 pound cases up four flights of stairs for some of our tour participants - chivalry is not dead!

Good job on being chivalrous! Just for the kicks I would have asked those people to wash your clothes for you. It's only fair to do this service for you since you broke a sweat for them. :)
Nine hours Venice? How dreadfully little time for such a fantastic city.
Lido de Jesolo? That was my very first (and second) foreign holiday at the tender age of 7 (then 8). It must be very changed since the 60s. I bet the beaches are just as crowded though.
We also visited Venice from there, day trips.......not long enough, I agree.
Jesolo is a really nice beach. You're near Treviso, no?
