Venice style
The range of acceptable clothing in Venice is wide indeed, but you’ll still find a significant number of men in very nice tailored jackets. I left my only moderately nice Orvis jacket in the room today in favor of a raincoat. The forecast was wrong and I felt a little under-dressed. No laundry tonight. It’s been moderate enough that I can easily get a second day’s use out of pair of pants. I’m glad since he drying conditions are undeniably poor at ou hotel. I visited a Lush store in Venice but couldn’t quite justify their price for solid shampoo.
Room laundry note to self: don’t count on a shower rod for having, bring clothes pins, and keep leaving the silly clothesline at home. And bring at least three plastic hangers with swivel hooks.

OR.....when in Venice do as the Romans do...........hang your washing out the window.
;-) Then hope it doesn't fall in the canal!
I can see by all your typos that the compact keyboard on the netbook is working out very well for you. ;)
I really like using the Lush solid shampoo. I actually use it at home now as well as when I travel for business or pleasure. The price is a little higher, but one puck will last me 2 months or so. I generally use the Karma Komba.
If you're ever in London, stock up on Lush. The prices for the UK stores are the cheapest and the products are at their freshest.
The other great thing about the shampoo bars is that you can use them as soap. I'm planning on doing that for my trip to Europe (most soaps make my skin break out in an itchy rash).
BTW, why do you leave your clothesline at home?
Marc - I can do typos on any computer. The real problem was expensive pay-as-you-go WifFi with too many things to do and too many others who need to use my computer. Poor eyesight doesn't help either.
Is Venice prett dressy?
To say "pretty dressy" might be an overstatement but the few very well-dressed people do raise the average. And I wasn't there in the evening. The employees of the nicer shops (and there are some very nice ones) all dress well too.
